My name is Anders and I’m a 20 year old guy who for the last 5 years has been obsessed with photography. 

This journey all started with my dad actually. He has been shooting consistently since I was a small child and he has been one of my biggest inspirations. I was always interested in what he was shooting and how the photos turned out. For some reason that did not make me pick up a camera until I was around 14 years old. My big passion started around that time with just me and my old Iphone. At the time there had been plenty of hobbies where I thought it would be a good idea to buy some expensive gear first and then learn the basics after. This had never really turned out great, so this time around I said to myself: “If you can take pictures with just your phone for a year and still feel the passion, then you can invest in a proper camera”. Since then things have gone quickly. I have travelled around the world with my camera, drone and other equipment taking some of the pictures I am most proud of. This has also enabled me to get photography jobs and some nominations and wins in photography competitions.

While photography competitions are not something that motivate me to take photos, it is nice to get some rekognition from the usually professional photographers who pick the winners. My first experience with winning a competition came in 2020. Denmarks Radio, which is the biggest news company in Denmark, made a photography competition where anyone could compete. This meant that there was over 23.000 photos and only 27 of them could win. When I got the call that I had won I was over the moon. This was the first time someone other than me, my family and friends had seen something in my photography. 

I always strive to improve every time I pick up the camera.

To me photography is about being creative and improving a craft everytime you pick up the camera. It can be difficult to balance work, school and photography, but I have found that the days I enjoy the most are the days that I'm out shooting. That is why I am trying to turn this into something I can live off.
